Resist MAGA

I’m pretty sure everyone who pays attention to U.S. politics already knows all of what I’m about to say, but I’ll give a brief recap anyway to lend support to my conclusions at the end.

The Ignoramus

Since the last presidential election, the U.S. has been undergoing an authoritarian fascist takeover by a vengeful narcissistic power-hungry ignoramus. For this entry, I’ll avoid mentioning his name since he loves attention, and just refer to him as “the ignoramus”.

The ignoramus is tanking the U.S. economy, appointing incompetent authoritarian ass-kissers to office, abandoning, tariffing, and threatening U.S. allies while sucking up to dictators like Putin, allowing an unelected billionaire to illegally ransack federal government departments, brazenly defying both the laws and the Constitution of the United States, and worst of all, racing towards the destruction of the human species via global warming.

MAGA: His Cult of Personality

This authoritarian fascist takeover is supported by a dangerous cult of personality called MAGA, a group which the ignoramus and his allies created and radicalized by spreading massive amounts of right-wing disinformation through media.

MAGA supporters occupy an alternate reality, and they don’t care that they don’t live in reality. They purport to have principles, but they instantly betray their own principles as soon as the ignoramus changes their marching orders, and then they engage in mental gymnastics and excuse-making to explain it away. They stand for nothing other than their side winning at any cost.

So that’s the situation. Luckily, there’s still a lot we can do about it.

Advice For U.S. Residents

To U.S. residents who want to help resist MAGA:

If you’re eligible to vote, vote down ballot. Get organized with like-minded people. Attend the protests. Don’t purchase anything Elon Musk sells.

I would also advise you to prepare for the worst. We know that the ignoramus shields those who commit violence on his behalf from legal consequences – he gave federal pardons to the January 6th insurrectionists. We also know he is vengeful – he has threatened to withhold federal aid from states that voted against him. If he finds a way to pull the levers of power so that his supporters can commit violence for him and face no consequences, he will likely do so.

For that reason, it’s important that you can defend yourself. Take care of yourself mentally as well as physically. Start exercising and eating healthy if you’re not already. Join a group for Krav Maga or MMA and learn to fight so you can be confident in the event of a physical altercation. Purchasing a firearm and knowing how to use it is also a good idea. It won’t help if the military is deployed on the civilian population, but it will help if his fanatics ever attack you.

Prepare for potential widespread civil unrest. Is there a safe location you can go to if conflict breaks out? Do you have an idea of what you would bring? Maybe make a bug out bag. If you had to flee the region right now, how quickly would you be ready to leave? If you don’t already have a passport, you should probably get one, so that you can cross the northern or southern border if it comes to that.

And finally, I want to emphasize that it’s especially important for you to follow this advice if you’re gay, trans, disabled, black, Asian, Latino, etc. The ignoramus likes to demonize minorities and if widespread civil unrest breaks out, you’ll have the biggest target on your back.

In summary, don’t panic, but do be prepared.

Advice For Foreigners

If you’re living outside the United States, the best thing for you to do is boycott all U.S. products until the ignoramus is impeached and removed from office.

There’s currently a boycott of U.S. goods in response to the tariffs, abandoning Ukraine, and threatening Canada. This boycott is progress, but we have to remember that it’s been less than two months since the ignoramus took office. There are forty-six months left to go, assuming he doesn’t find a way to hold on to power afterward. He surely has much more in the pipeline, so there’s no reason to condition the boycott on only those three things. Boycott all U.S. goods until he’s forced out by Congress.

This boycott will hurt everyday Americans. But, if it succeeds in generating the political will to remove the ignoramus from office and dissolve the MAGA movement, then it’ll be worth it. Far less harm will come to Americans and the rest of the world from a boycott than allowing the ignoramus to remain in power and keep causing chaos.

Some may worry that such a boycott could provoke the ignoramus to escalate his rhetoric or actions towards participating countries. I understand the concern, but consider that he has a pattern of unprovoked escalation anyway – he threatened to annex Canada, Greenland, the Panama Canal, and tried to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. The tariffs themselves were unprovoked. Appeasement won’t work with him – like Putin and Hitler, he has an endless appetite for power.

Americans are complacent, checked out of politics, and many are just selfish – they don’t care about anything unless it affects them personally. An indefinite boycott would hopefully wake Americans up and force them to start caring about what their government is doing.

Final Words

I myself no longer live in the U.S, and I’m glad that I don’t, but I know that what happens there affects the entire world. For the sake of global stability, the U.S. needs to rid itself of this dangerous authoritarian fascist and the MAGA mind virus. I hope my advice can be useful toward that end. Please put it into practice yourself and spread the word.
